Koocanusa Lake Railing & Storage

A way finding walkway and red ribbon railing spill 150 feet down a steep slope to the lake. Its seemingly random shape was determined by several natural factors such as tree locations, ground undulations, and the natural worn animal trail. The directive not to disturb the delicate, powdery soil or remove a single tree to retain slope stability guided the design and construction of its feature. Following the red railing is a magical journey to the water which along the way is a set of playful, whimsical, colourful plastic and steel doors which curiously house lake toys and dock furniture.
